Palestine Conflict: A Permanent Solution Is Inevitable

The Palestine-Israel ceasefire agreement should certainly be a guarantee of a lasting process. The other day, three Jewish prisoners were handed over to a welfare organization in a crowd of Palestinian Muslims in Gaza.
In exchange, Israel will release more than 200 Palestinian mothers, sisters, and children. This is a welcome step for peace in which the guns will fall silent. Nevertheless, the question remains: Will the formal announcement of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza by Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani determine a bright future for the inhabitants of the Palestinian land? This question has caused a wavering within the Islamic world, in which three stages are gradually before us, the first of which is a ceasefire. The unjust blood of children, women, and the elderly on the Palestinian land will be washed away after who knows how many rains? But it is good news that the series of bombings on humanity may now stop. The agreement between the two sides for the return of bodies is also included in the announcement. In the second phase, prisoners and prisoners of war will be released. Israel will release 30 Palestinian prisoners for each hostage and 50 Palestinian prisoners for each female prisoner of war. The first phase of the agreement includes the release of 33 Israeli hostages, including all women, children and men over the age of 50. Israel will release the 1,650 Palestinian prisoners it has held hostage. The second phase, which begins on the 16th day of the first phase, also includes discussions on the implementation of the second phase.
Can the six-week ceasefire, which began on January 19, be considered a complete declaration of peace between the two sides? Because a permanent ceasefire and a complete withdrawal of Israelis from Gaza are also included in the agreement reached through the efforts of the three parties, the United States, Egypt, and Qatar. In the third phase, it has been decided that the bodies of the dead hostages will be returned and, most importantly, the reconstruction of the devastated Gaza will be included. Upon the news of the ceasefire and the release of the hostages between Israel and Hamas, thousands of Gazans celebrated, even carrying the bodies of their loved ones. The people of Gaza gathered in groups, hugged each other, and took pictures with their mobile phones at the announcement. Despite being a positive development, the news of a ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian organization Hamas and the Zionist state of Israel has not significantly reduced the concerns of peace-loving circles in many respects. In this regard, the responsibility of the United States as a global superpower increases, where the transition of power is almost here, and both President Joe Biden, who is preparing to leave after completing his five-year term and is ready to return to the White House if he wins the elections, are taking credit for ending the worrying situation. To what extent and for how long will Israel stick to its promise to abide by the peace agreement? It is not easy to say anything definitively in light of its past role.
However, if Washington wants to play a role in the interest of world peace in this regard, it can be effective, while many circles are of the opinion that the current war could not have been fought without Washington's practical, armed, and financial support. The development that emerged on Wednesday last is that Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani informed the international community through a press conference in Doha about the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel. He said that the agreement will start. This explanation is encouraging that the United States, Egypt, and Qatar will monitor the said agreement, Qatar will not leave the Palestinians alone. He also thanked President-elect Trump's Middle East advisor for playing a role in the agreement. According to media reports, the first phase of the ceasefire will be a 6-week ceasefire, while about 2,000 Palestinian prisoners will be released in exchange for 33 Israeli prisoners, including 250 Palestinians who have been sentenced to death.
The withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza will be phased according to the agreed schedule. The Israeli forces will also withdraw from the Philadelphia Corridor (Salahuddin Axis) on the border between Egypt and Gaza. US President Donald Trump, who was elected for the second time, took the lead in announcing the agreement, while Joe Biden, who was in the White House, announced it later, calling the agreement the result of America’s best diplomacy. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the European Union and the international community have also welcomed the ceasefire decision. It is natural for people in Israel and the Gaza Strip to express their joy at this development, but it is regrettable that before the ceasefire was announced, Israeli aircraft increased their attacks on Gaza and the occupied West Bank last week, killing 67 Palestinians, while more than 46,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 110,000 injured in more than 15 months since October 7, 2023. On the other hand, 405 Israeli soldiers were killed in the actions of resistance groups and more than 1,200 were killed inside Israel. The words of Hamas's central leader, Khalil al-Haya, carry weight that the ceasefire is the result of the steadfastness and resistance of the Palestinians, while the Houthis of Yemen have saluted the resistance groups on the ceasefire. The challenges facing the Islamic world, including the Palestinians, currently require that Muslim countries make the voice of their organization, the OIC, more effective and take measures to prevent the recurrence of Israeli atrocities through international diplomacy. The war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, which has been ongoing for a year and a half, in which the Zionist forces have committed serious war crimes and subjected the civilian population to brutal air and ground attacks, martyring fifty thousand unarmed Palestinian Muslims, including women and children, and reducing residential settlements, including hospitals and educational institutions, to piles of rubble, has finally ended as a result of the ceasefire agreement, and Gazans spent last night without fear of attacks.
The initial phase of the six-week ceasefire includes the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from central Gaza and the return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza. In fact, the world powers that patronize the Zionist state gave it an open opportunity to continue the worst bloodshed in Gaza for fifteen months so that it could eradicate the Palestinian resistance from its roots and rule the entire region without anyone else. However, Hamas's fierce resistance and the unparalleled sacrifices of the citizens of Gaza prevented this desire from being fulfilled. Israel failed to achieve its goals, while Hamas closed its doors in the face of the emerging fears that various Arab states and many other countries around the world, including Israel, would recognize Israel as a legitimate state. This eternal and unprecedented resistance has left no choice but to seek a just solution to the Palestinian issue for lasting peace in the region. Therefore, all the just powers of the world, including the 57 countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, must now move forward together for a permanent solution to this conflict based on the demands of justice as soon as possible. It is essential for world peace to curb the expansionist ambitions of Israel, which has recently expressed its heinous intentions to occupy several Arab states by releasing a map of Greater Israel.
