Pakistan's diversity shines during christmas celebrations

KARACHI: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) senior leader, Member Provincial Assembly (MPA), and Parliamentary Secretary for the Department of Transport, Mass Transit, Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control, Dr. Sham Sunder K. Advani, emphasized Pakistan's rich cultural and religious diversity at a Christmas function hosted by Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly Anthony Naveed.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Advani highlighted the nation's history of harmony among people of different faiths, noting that celebrations such as Eid, Diwali, and Christmas unite citizens across religious lines. He extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the Christian community, acknowledging their contributions to Pakistan's social fabric. Dr. Advani remarked, “On Christmas Day, not only the minority community but the whole of Pakistan joins in the joy of the Christian community, reflecting our shared values of unity and respect.”
The event was attended by prominent political and social figures, including MPA and PPP Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khoro, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister and PPP Sindh General Secretary Waqar Mehdi, Cardinal Joseph Coates, and Bishop MushtaqAnjum. Provincial ministers, special assistants, members of the Provincial and National Assembly, and leaders from various political and social organizations were also present. The People's Party, known for its dedication to serving the people, reaffirmed its commitment to fostering inclusivity and interfaith harmony through such initiatives.
