Mathira, the confident and outspoken Pakistani actress and host, has always been known for her candid opinions and bold personality. Widely recognized for her roles in popular dramas such as Chaal, Quddusi Sahab Ki Bewa, and Dil Ke Rung Hazar, Mathira has a massive fan base that appreciates her no-holds-barred attitude.
Alongside her successful career, she is also an empowered single mother, raising three sons. In a recent discussion, Mathira shared her views on relationships, love, and the common misconceptions about love that exist in Pakistan. She openly discussed her personal experiences with love, revealing that she would rather remain single than fall in love again.
Mathira explained, “When I’m in love, I turn into a completely different person. I become overly obsessive and even dangerous. I can’t constantly keep an eye on my partner anymore.” She shared that after experiencing two intense relationships, one of which turned out to be quite painful, she learned valuable life lessons that shaped her into a stronger person.
Mathira went on to explain that experiencing true love, followed by a breakup, can teach crucial lessons. She believes that the emotional aftermath of a breakup strips away one’s arrogance and pride, helping individuals to become more grounded and appreciate their family and friends more deeply. Speaking about the concept of love in Pakistan, Mathira expressed concern about how many people confuse love with lust. “In Pakistan, there’s a common misconception that sex equals love,” she said. “Many think if someone is lusting after you, it’s the same as being in love. They fail to understand the true meaning of love.” According to Mathira, this misunderstanding is leading to confusion and unhealthy relationship dynamics in society.
