Khalid Butt, a veteran actor with an illustrious career, passed away on January 11, 2024. Known for his versatile roles in Khaie and Jeevan Nagar, Butt’s death was deeply felt by his fans, especially as his final drama aired during his illness. On March 20, Rashid Dar, a prominent producer from Pakistan Television’s golden era, also passed away. Dar’s contributions to iconic shows like Andhera Ujala have left a lasting imprint on Pakistan’s television landscape. Saeed Ahmed, a cricket legend, passed away at the age of 86, marking the end of an era for Pakistani cricket fans. His passing left a significant void in the world of sports.  The loss of Talat Hussain on May 26, 2024, was another devastating blow to the arts.

A renowned actor and voice artist, Hussain’s legacy spans television and theater, and he continues to inspire countless artists. Taskeen Zafar, a well-known newscaster from PTV’s golden era, died after a brief illness at the age of 67, while Naheed Ansari, the beloved culinary expert, passed away after battling cancer, leaving behind a wealth of recipes cherished by many. Other notable losses included comedian Sardar Kamal, musician Ustad Tafu Khan, and music artist Haniya Aslam, who tragically died at the age of 39. Mazhar Ali, a beloved PTV actor, Yahya Siddiqui, husband of actress Shagufta Ejaz, and theatre producer Furqan Haider Rizvi also passed away in 2024. These stars have left an indelible mark through their work, and their contributions will continue to be celebrated in the years to come.
