Pakistan, UAE express resolve to boost bilateral relationship

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and United Arab Emirates (UAE) expressed resolve to strengthen bilateral cooperation in diverse fields. Development came during meeting of UAE delegation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif here. Ddelegation was led by Chairman of Hayat Bio-Tech and member of ruling family of UAE, Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook al Maktoum. During meeting, Prime Minister said brotherly relations between Pakistan and United Arab Emirates are deeply rooted in history. He underlined that Pakistan attached great importance to further expanding brotherly ties with UAE in diverse fields including trade and investment.
PM Shehbaz welcomed keen interest of Hayat Bio-Tech to invest in Pakistan’s pharmaceutical sector, especially in vaccine manufacturing. He also invited visiting delegation to invest in renewable energy sector and assured that foreign investors would be provided with all possible facilitation.
On occasion, Sheikh Maktoum said they are aware of huge investment potential of Pakistan and UAE is looking forward to further expanding its footprint in energy and health sectors. He expressed keen desire to further expand UAE’s investment portfolio in Pakistan.
Dignitary also briefed Prime Minister about their ongoing 1,200 MW power plant project undertaken in collaboration with government of Sindh which would be hybrid power plant of solar and wind energy. Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif summoned meeting of coalition parties today in Lahore. Coalition parties will be briefed on cases being heard by Supreme Court (SC).
Moreover, ruling coalition will take some important decisions regarding pending cases. Earlier in day, Supreme Court (SC) office rejected Justice Qazi Faez Isa observation regarding suo moto notices hearing. SC Registrar Office issued a circular regarding hearing of cases under Article 184/3.
