Pakistan stands with Turkiye nation in hour of catastrophe: PM

ADIYAMAN: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan would continue to provide maximum assistance to Turkiye in its post-earthquake rehabilitation and reconstruction phases.
He expressed these views as he handed over relief goods mainly winterised tents to Turkish officials, during his visit to Adiyaman city following massive earthquake that claimed more than 36,000 lives and left country reeling. A special aircraft of Pakistan Air Force transported relief goods to Adiyaman, most-affected area in southeast Turkiye that suffered heavy damage from powerful earthquake of February 6. PM interacted with victims of earthquake who lost their families and conveyed to them sympathies on behalf of Pakistani nation. PM Shehbaz assured Turkish government and victims that Pakistan would extend every possible cooperation to brotherly country to cope with devastation. He termed Turkiye as friend and brotherly country of Pakistan and hoped that country would overcome challenging times with resilience
. He also met rescue teams from Pakistan that took part in search operation. Earlier on his arrival at Adiyaman Airport, PM was received by Turkish Trade Minister Mehmet Mus, Minister for Communication Adil Ismailoglu, Governor of Adiyaman Mahmut Cuhadar, President of Turk-Pakistan Friendship Group in Turkish Parliament Ali Shaheen and senior officials. Cabinet also decided to send 20,000 quilts to earthquake victims and directed Finance Department to release Rs 50 million for purpose.
