Pakistan’s ‘Yoga Guru’ sets record to create country’s largest ‘Paper Plane’ by Origami

KARACHI: Pakistan’s prominent fitness trainer and Yoga Guru Yogi Wajahat, who is also the Founder of ‘Khilona Foundation’ yesterday took the initiative by setting a record to develop country’s largest ‘Paper Plane’ by Origami at Regent Plaza hotel on the eve of Defence Day in Karachi.

The event was held to pay rich tribute to the Armed Forces and the sacrifices of the martyrs and Ghazis. Roshni Public School students prepared the largest ‘Paper Plane’ which was administered by Yogi Wajahat. Speaking on the occasion, Yogi Wajahat praised the efforts of the students for preparing Pakistan’s largest paper plane with the help of Origami by utilizing the old newspapers which generally goes in waste.

He said that in near future we will going to kick-off a journey to create world’s largest Paper Plane which will also be backed by The Guinness Book of World Records. Founder of the Khilona Foundation while talking exclusively to Daily National Courier said “Pakistan is facing worst form of natural calamity which has left thousands dead, millions homeless and displaced, at this immediate moment it is the need of the hour to help out our brothers, sisters and children by all means whatever anyone could do easily.” Managing Director, Regent Plaza Hotel, Zubair Baweja while addressing to the audience congratulated Yogi Wajahat for setting record of preparing Pakistan’s largest Paper Plane and encouraged the students on their hard work and efforts for this cause. Baweja also said that this very new initiative to prepare a Paper Plane will create awareness among the children regarding environmental protection and will also enhance creative skills of our children that with the help of old and used papers one can create an innovative art work and also the children will get educated about the process of recycling through this exercise.  

It is pertinent to mention here that the Paper Plane which was developed has been sold and the funds generated through it has been donated for the flood-affected people. The event was attended by people from different circles of life including MD Regent Plaza Hotel Zubair Baweja,  Rotary Club Roshni President Anita Kirmani,  Hina Amin, Director Salmans Food Ahmed Salman, Country Head Salmans Food, Sarfaraz Ahmed, President National Forum for environment and Health Naeem Qureshi, GM Trex Yasir Memon, Director Khilona Foundation Salahuddin and the teachers of Roshni Public School along with  businessmen, social workers, journalists, corporate sector and others.
