Pakistan remembers supreme sacrifices of APS martyrs

ISLAMABAD: Eight anniversary of terrorist attack on APS Peshawar was observed. Main function of tragic incident of APS School was held in Army Public School Peshawar. Special prayers were offered for martyred students and teachers of Army Public School.
Parents of martyred students laid floral wreath on Yadgar-e-Shuhada. It was on this day when six terrorists stormed Army Public School Peshawar and martyred one hundred and forty-seven innocent students and teachers of School.
Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb also paid homage to martyrs and said despite passage of eight years, even today we are unable to forget tragedy.
Meanwhile in statement, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf said pain of Army Public School Peshawar tragedy is still fresh in nation's heart.
He said resilience and courage of bereaved families and students of APS have reinforced nation's resolve to root out militancy in all forms and manifestations.

Politicians and other well-known personalities remembered martyrs of tragic day. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, taking to Twitter said today is day to pay tribute to martyrs of APS and share grief of their families. "Pakistani nation will never forget sacrifices of its martyrs," wrote premier.
"December 16 is day for whole of Pakistan to be united against terrorism. This struggle of ours is going on, which will continue with same iron will and perseverance until complete elimination of evil," he added.
Former President and Pakistan Peoples' Party co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari said that all terrorists need to be killed for doing justice with martyrs' lives. In his message regarding anniversary of Army Public School's incident martyrs, he said, "Nation has not forgotten innocent martyrs of APS incident and we have to protect this motherland." Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that December 16 is day that nation will never forget when one of most horrific acts of terrorism in our history happened attack on innocent children of APS Peshawar and their teachers. "It is also day when we came together as nation and resolved to take on and defeat terrorism," he added. Meanwhile, PTI leader Faisal Javed said that whole nation pays homage to great sacrifices by young martyrs of Army Public School today. "Salute to their mothers, to their courage who bore unbearable pain of being separated from their sons and daughters," he added.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that APS tragedy is one saddest events in country's history when terrorists attacked innocent and young children and martyred them. "Wound is still fresh even after eight years. Martyrs showed entire nation way to unite against terrorism and religious extremism," he added. PTI Secretary General Asad Umar said that worst tragedy in history of Pakistan took place on December 16. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Hina Parvez Butt said that wounds of December 16 are fresh once again. She said that she still remembers faces when she thinks about that day. Meanwhile, parents and families of victims, civil society organisations and school management held Quran khwani and peace processions at different venues in city.
