Pakistan on verge of history’s biggest crisis, says Imran Khan

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that country was facing biggest crisis in its history. Addressing women’s convention via video link, he said country could both lead to prosperity and decline. He said that country was at crossroads. Going back to 1990s, Khan said country started to face crisis after 1990s.
He recalled his demand of free and fair elections, adding that only with transparent polls, there be possibility of legitimate government.
He slammed Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz saying that plan to install PML-N ’s government in Punjab was now underway. He reiterated that there only strong government could take country out of quagmire.
He stated that only one person was to blame for current situation. He also warned that crisis within country will intensify in coming days. “I made a prediction on prevailing crisis in country, seven months ago,” he added.
Imran Khan blamed former Chief of Army Staff Gen (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa for pushing Pakistan into crises.
Imran Khan said that Gen Bajwa was solely responsible for pushing Pakistan into mess it is in today, reiterating that he had sent Shaukat Tarin with message that country’s economy would not be handled if political instability was created at that time.
We all know who was one whose decision pushed Pakistan into crisis, he said, adding that he had predicted this instabilityseven months ago. He lashed out at PML-N and PPP leadership, saying, “For 20 years, both of these two ruling families have been hurling allegations at each other.”
Taking a dig at Pakistan Democratic Movement he said performance of PDM leadership was only visible in advertisements and propaganda. He expressed his thoughts on political engineering, stating that it was not intended to solve problems. Khan lamented that masses were deprived of flour, claiming that people were losing their lives for sake of flour and that people were being forced to flee country under current circumstances.
Taking a dig at coalition government, Imran Khan recalled that incumbent government came into power to fulfill agenda of enemies of country.
He warned state institutions that if situation was not controlled, country would be dragged into quagmire, following in footsteps of Sri Lanka.
Highlighting inflation he stated today country was experiencing record inflation in its 50-year history and that it was not going to stop. Talking about his struggle, Khan said, “We are pouring onto streets for sake of country, not ministries.”
