Pakistan, Maldives agree to strengthen bilateral ties

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Maldives agreed to strengthen bilateral relations and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation, particularly focusing on trade and environmental initiatives. Bilateral relations were discussed during telephonic conversation between interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar and President of Maldives Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
“Purpose of telephone call was to follow up on discussions during their meeting held on December 2, 2023, on sidelines of 28th Session of Conference of Parties to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in Abu Dhabi,” Prime Minister Office news release said.
During conversation, two sides also expressed their desire to work for peace and development in South Asia through greater regional cooperation.
