KARACHI: Consul General of Japan in Karachi Hattori Masaru said Pakistan and Japan enjoyed rich history of diplomatic relations aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in diverse fields.
Addressing Japanese National Day reception to mark 64th birthday of His Majesty Emperor of Japan Naruhito here, Japanese Consul General welcomed distinguished guests and expressed his pleasure in hosting first National Day reception.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori graced occasion as chief guest and extended felicitations to Japanese People on National Day. National anthems of both countries were played. Envoy emphasised rich history of diplomatic relations between Japan and Pakistan and highlighted recent initiatives aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation.
He underscored Japan's commitment to working closely with newly elected government of Pakistan to strengthen ties and foster mutual development.
He highlighted Japan's long-lasting contributions to Pakistan's economy for long time and emphasised educational facility renovations and healthcare facility expansions in Sindh and Balochistan provinces, reflecting commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities.
Cake-cutting ceremony followed by delightful dinner featuring fusion of Japanese and Pakistani cuisines, symbolising cultural harmony between two nations. Number of diplomats from different countries stationed including Chinese, Turkiye and other nations along with academia, civil society, media persons and social activists attended event.
