Pakistan ‘disappointed’ over inclusion in US religious violators list: FO

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has expressed concerns over US state department’s decision to put Pakistan on Country of Particularly Concern (CPC) for religious violations.
Addressing weekly press conference, Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch termed United States decision to include Pakistan’s name on list of religious violators ‘discriminatory’.
She asserted that there has been undeniable proof that India was involved in state-sponsored terrorism to destabilise Pakistan. “Despite recommendation of US commission, India is not included in list,”, she maintained, urging international community to take notice of this reality.
Last week, US designated Pakistan as country of particular concern under Religious Freedom Act over violations during 2022.
Earlier, India did not issue visas’ for Pakistan blind cricket team to participate in world cup, Pakistan team was strong contender to win world cup as they were runner-up in last world cup held in UAE, spokesperson added.
While condemning Indian barbarism in occupied Kashmir, Zahra Baloch called international organisations to take notice of situation in occupied Kashmir.
She held Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is on visit of Indonesia to attend Bali democracy conference. Foreign ministers of both Pakistan and Indonesia have met. Cooperation in diverse sectors between two countries is continuing.
FM has met his Bosnian counterpart Dr. Bisera Turkovic in Bali, Indonesia. FM will depart for his Singapore visit today.
It was further told in briefing that OIC Sectary General will undertake two days visit of Pakistan on December 11-12. He will meet Bilawal Bhutto Zardari here and visit Azad Kashmir as well.
