Pakistan, China sign $250mln MoUs to enhance agri, food processing

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China have signed 13 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at boosting collaboration in agriculture and food processing sectors. The total value of these MoUs amounts to $250 million, reflecting a significant step toward strengthening bilateral trade ties between the two nations.
The signing ceremony took place in Beijing and was witnessed by Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi. The MoUs focus on fostering joint ventures in key areas such as animal fodder and the processing of fruits and vegetables. These agreements are expected to enhance Pakistan’s agricultural output, improve food processing capabilities, and create new economic opportunities in these vital sectors.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Hashmi emphasized the strategic importance of agriculture and food processing industries in Pakistan’s economic landscape. He highlighted the positive impact these partnerships could have on both countries, particularly in terms of technological exchange and market access.
