Pakistan celebrates China's 75th National Day, reaffirming strong commitment to CPEC

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended heartfelt congratulations to Chinese people and leadership on 75th anniversary of founding of Peoples' Republic of China.
Speaking at China's National Day Reception ceremony here, President Zardari maintained his commitment to collaborate with China for shared prosperity and promotion of global peace and stability.
He noted that Pakistan and China are "All-weather friends and partners in peace and progress," highlighting invaluable contributions of successive generations to transform their friendship into strategic cooperation.
President remarked that despite changing global circumstances, friendship between two nations remains steadfast.
He expressed optimism about furthering high-quality development of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, affirming that China will always find Pakistan trusted partner and reliable friend.
Moreover, PM Shehbaz also celebrated occasion, calling it significant day for both nations during his address. He reflected on his visit to China in June, noting warm and friendly welcome he received.
"People of Pakistan and China share an unbreakable and unshakable relationship," he stated, adding that their friendship is "Higher than Himalayas and deeper than deepest ocean."
Expressing gratitude to Chinese leadership for their support during challenging times, PM acknowledged that without Chinese assistance, meeting IMF conditionalities would have been extremely difficult. He reiterated Pakistan's unwavering support for China's positions on Hong Kong, Taiwan and other international issues.
PM Shehbaz announced that Pakistan is entering second phase of CPEC, which can potentially transform country's economy. This phase will enhance cooperation in various sectors, including agriculture, information technology, and mining, he added.
He expressed anticipation for upcoming visit of Chinese Premier to Pakistan next month, looking forward to deepening collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
