Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori said that Pakistan and Republic of Korea have long-lasting friendship and it will grow more.
Speaking as chief guest at Korean Foundation Day reception hosted by Yi Sung-ho Consul General of Republic of Korea at local hotel and attended by diplomats from various Countries, high government officials, businessmen, industrialists, number of Korean nationals based in Karachi and elite Governor said that it was my pleasure to attend Korean National Day receptions in Islamabad and as well as in Karachi as chief guest.
Consul General Yi Sung-ho said that Korea and Pakistan have maintained close relations in many areas. He said mutual trade and cooperation between two countries goes back decades when Pakistan assisted Korea with its 5-Year Development Plan.
Korean CG said we are gathered here to mark anniversary of National Foundation Day of Korea. It is day when Dangun, our national father, spread ideology of wide benefits people and opened sky for Korean people.”
He said this year marks 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Korea and Pakistan. Since establishment of diplomatic relationships in 1983, Korea and Pakistan have maintained close relations in many areas.
He said Pakistan assisted Korea with its 5-Year Development Plan and in return, Korean government is contributing to social and economic development of Pakistan via economic development cooperation fund (soft loan) or official development assistance (grant aid).
This year, approximately $ 48 million is being spent on 12 projects. “Our brilliant culture, which has blossomed over long history has become culture that people around world can see and enjoy together under name of K-Culture,” he said.
