Pakistan Army clinches 25th Men's National Baseball Championship trophy by defeating Pakistan Wapda

Rawalpindi: The Army won the 25th Men's National Baseball Championship organized by the Pakistan Federation Baseball.

 In the final match, Army faced WAPDA in a thrilling contest here at GHQ ground Rawalpindi. Pakistan Army scored 3 runs while WAPDA could not score any run. Faqir Hussain, Wasim Akram and Mohammad Younis scored 1 run from Army side.  Brigadier Umar (MT) attended the function held at GHQ Rawalpindi Baseball Ground as Chief Guest.  Pakistan Federation Baseball General Secretary Syed Fakhar Ali Shah gave him a warm welcome along with  all the players welcomed him with enthusiastic applause by all the players. The day started with a match played between the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Islamabad for the third position.  HEC scored 5 runs while Islamabad managed to score 3 runs.  Rais Bashir, Saeed Akhtar, Ikramullah, Irfanullah and Junaid scored 1 runs from the Higher Education Commission.

 Tariq scored 2 runs and Malik scored 1 from Islamabad. Director NF Pakistan Sports Board Nasrullah Rana was the chief guest and distributed medals and cerificates amoung the HEC & Islamabad team respectively. In the second match "The Final", the Pakistan Army team showed their skills and defeated Pakistan Wapda by 3 runs and declared champions.  Faqir Hussain, Wasim Akram and Mohammad Younis scored 1 runs from the king Pakistan Army. During the closing ceremony, General Secretary Syed Fakhar Ali Shah presented a bouquet and honorary shield to the Chief Guest, Brigadier Umar (MT).  Colonel Nabil, Major Ali Tahir, Tahir Mehmood, Dr. Hamood Lakhvi,Moazzam Khan Klair, Nasir Abbas Naul , Shahzada Butt , Amjad Nawaz Khan and Hamza Ashraf were also present on the occasion.
