Pakistan 2nd most expensive country in South Asia: ADB

ISLAMABAD: Asian Development Bank (ADB) declared Pakistan as second most expensive country in South Asian region. Asian Development Bank has released its outlook for year 2022, predicting that inflation rate in Pakistan will remain high in coming months and value of Pakistani rupee may fall further. Inflation rate in Pakistan is 26.6 percent.
According to forecast, energy is likely to become more expensive in Pakistan, rate of economic growth in South Asia has slowed down due to floods, adding that floods in Pakistan and Bangladesh have affected economic growth.
On other hand, Sri Lanka has been declared most expensive country in region with an inflation rate of 70.6 percent, while inflation rate in Bangladesh is 8.9 percent and India is witnessed at 6.8 percent.
