Pak-American singer Urooj conferred ‘Pride of Performance’ award

Pakistan’s Ambassador to United States Masood Khan conferred President’s Pride of Performance medal on Grammy award winner Urooj Aftab, an internationally recognised Pakistani-American vocalist, music composer and producer.

Aftab (38) was first Pakistani woman to ever win Grammy in 2022, major annual American entertainment award. She sang Hafeez Hoshiarpuri’s Ghazal, ‘Mohabbat Karne Wale Kam Na Honge’ , in Best Global Performance category.

Ambassador Masood Khan underscored her role in bringing people of two countries closer to each other through power of music, saying that diplomacy and interstate relations were all about perceptions and. Aftab has helped change perception of Pakistan.
