Pak Army ready all-time to defend Pakistan: COAS

Rawalpindi: COAS General Asim Munir visited forward areas along Line of Control (LOC).  COAS was briefed on situation along LOC and operational preparedness of deployed formations.

COAS met with officers and troops on forward positions. He emphasised upon troops to extend all out support to local population, remain steadfast and discharge duties with utmost sincerity and devotion.

 COAS appreciated officers and men for maintaining continued vigil, remarkable operational preparedness and high state of morale. 

He further said that Pakistan Army is resolved to defend sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan against all kinds of threat and is determined to support just cause of Kashmiris and seeks resolution of Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with UN resolutions.

 Earlier on arrival at LOC, COAS was received by Corps Commander Rawalpindi Corps.Meanwhile, The funeral prayers of Sepoy Hamid Rasool, who embraced martyrdom during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Shin Warsak, South Waziristan District, was laid to rest in his hometown Jaswal, Rawalpindi district with full military honours yesterday.

His funeral prayers were initially offered at the Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters, Wana and subsequently in his hometown, which were attended by senior serving and retired officers and soldiers,
