PAF pays tribute to 1965 war hero Sq Ldr Muniruddin Shaheed

Karachi: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) released special promo tribute to bravery and valour of Squadron Leader Muniruddin Ahmed Shaheed, hero of 1965 war. According to spokesperson of Pakistan Air Force, during war, Squadron Leader Munir Shaheed flew several combat missions causing significant damage to valuable enemy infrastructure. On September 10, 1965, he led his formation into Indian Territory to seek out enemy fighters and shot down an Indian Air Force Gnat fighter jet.
On eve of September 11, 1965 he made the supreme sacrifice when his aircraft was fatally hit by heavy concentration of enemy’s attack guns during ground attack mission. In recognition of his utmost professionalism and bravery, war hero was also honoured with prestigious ‘Sitara-i-Jurat’ posthumously.
