ISLAMABAD: Public Accounts Committee (PAC)  has been told  that appointments have been made at inflated salaries  illegally in different projects including Dasu Hydropower project. The committee members have demanded for sacking chairman WAPDA and other illegally recruited employees forthwith. On the complaint of Auditor General of Pakistan it has been decided to write a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan to obtain record related to dam funds.

Chairman committee Noor Alam Khan said the employees are receiving two salaries and pension. I wonder that TV actors have been appointed in Daso hydro power project. What is job of TV actors in electricity projects, he questioned. He held those behind causing loss to national exchequer will be brought to justice. The PAC met under its chairman Noor Alam Khan here Wednesday in parliament house.

The audit report of ministry of water resources was reviewed in the meeting. The financial irregularities of billion of rupees have come to light in Daso hydropower project. Noor Alam Khan said it is essential for the Accountability court and supremacy of constitution it should be told how and how much funds were collected for Bhasha dam. It has been learnt that state bank has also been asked not to provide record.  This action is in derogation of constitution. Chief justice should take action against the persons found involved in such unconstitutional acts.  Dam fund is public money. The people donated billion of rupees by giving Rs 10 donation each.
