Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that opposition is not being treated fairly.
Expressing his thoughts, Gohar said, “We are having reservations about not airing Omar Ayub’s speech live. We have recorded our protest before Speaker.” “It will be difficult to remain united if same attitude is directed towards opposition,” he added.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf announced results of its intra-party elections, with Barrister Gohar Ali Khan securing chairmanship uncontested, according to Raoof Hassan, party’s Central Information Secretary and Federal Election Commissioner.
In press briefing, Hassan disclosed outcomes of elections, revealing that Omar Ayub has clinched role of Central General Secretary and Dr Yasmin Rashid has been acclaimed as unopposed President of Punjab.
Elections also saw Ali Amin Gandapur emerging as elected President of PTI for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa with Noorul Haq Qadri and Arbab Jahandad Khan being elected as vice presidents for PTI in KP.
PTI KP Election Commissioner Qazi Anwar Advocate confirmed Gandapur’s victory, emphasising lack of opposition as no other panel submitted nomination papers.
