ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) while issuing notices to respondents during hearing of petition against rejection of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s petitions in 9 cases related to May 9 incidents being not persuaded has sought reply.

Case came up for hearing before division bench of IHC comprising Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri.

Suleman Safdar counsel for Chairman PTI said bail was granted to Imran Khan in 5 cases having allegations of this nature. In other 3 cases judge of Anti-Terrorism Court was changed before decision.

Counsel said Chairman PTI appeared in court during all hearings. Then he was convicted in Toshakhana case and he went to jail. It was our request that Chairman PTI be presented in court.

Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri inquired has Chairman PTI been arrested in these cases. Counsel replied that as per his information Chairman PTI has not been arrested in these cases.

Justice Tariq Jahangiri inquired how it is possible that bail has been rejected and arrest has not been made.

He remarked we call other respondent and ask was he arrested or otherwise. If arrest has been made then bail after arrest plea will have to be filed. If arrest has not been made then you will give argument on your petition.

Court adjourned hearing of case till next hearing.
