KARACHI: The Ombudsman, The Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Work Place have issues show cause notices to the executive director, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) Prof. Shahid Rasul and incharge medical ICU ward-23 Dr. Zeeshan along with a few other employees for today, Tuesday, December 17 on complaint of harassment accusations by the head of the gastroenterology department ward-4, JPMC Dr. Nazish Butt, it's learnt by this scribe. 

Dr Nazish Butt has accused Prof. Shahid Rasul - ED JPMC, Dr. Zeeshan - head of medical ICU ward-23 JPMC, Dr. Masood Khoso of JSMU, Dr. Waris Jakhrani - DMS Zakat at Dr. Ruth K.M. Pfau civil hospital Karachi, Mr. Mehfooz - supervisor JPMC and Mr. Sabir - supervisor JPMC of her harassment in the hospital during work. She has filed a complaint under section 8 of the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Work Place Act 2010. 

Dr. Nazish Butt has accused them for causing harassment and mental agony at the workplace. Taking action on the complaint, the ombudsman directed all accused to appear in person and submit their written defence today (Tuesday). 

It's pertinent to mention that Dr. Nazish Butt had already filed a suit against the appointment of Prof. Shahid Rasul as ED JPMC in the Sindh high court and SHC has suspended his appointment notification. However, despite his suspension, Prof. Shahid Rasul continued to sign office orders and financial bills as usual and didn't relinquish the ED charge, sources told.
