MUZAFFARABAD: Secretary-General of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha laid wreath at Jammu and Kashmir Monument, built in memory of Kashmiri martyrs and their struggle.

OIC Chief, who was on visit to Jammu and Kashmir along with his delegation paid his respects and offered fateha for martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Kashmir cause.

Muslim world body always raised voice against Indian atrocities in IIOJK and supported right to self-determination of Kashmiris as per UN resolutions.

In 48th session of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers held in Islamabad in March this year, Muslim world body had adopted joint action plan on Kashmir issue. Under plan, OIC countries agreed to raise Kashmir issue in their bilateral engagements with India and underscore respect for fundamental human rights of Kashmiri people, as well as lend support to monitor human rights violations in IIOJK.

OIC in strongly worded statement condemned Indian illegal move in IIOJK which is an internationally accepted disputed territory. ‘Delimitation’ exercises are in direct contravention of relevant UN Security Council resolutions and international law, including 4th Geneva Convention.
