OGDCL initiates hydrocarbon production from Nashpa-11 well

Karachi: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has commenced hydrocarbon production from its new development well Nashpa-11. E&P firm announced development in its notice to Pakistan Stock Exchange said, "We are pleased to share an encouraging development where Nashpa-11 well has been successfully tested, completed and brought into production stream." "This development is result of OGDCL's in-house expertise," it added.

Sharing details, OGDCL said that Nashpa-11 well was drilled to depth of 4,485 meters, targeting hydrocarbon potential within Lumshiwal, Hangu and Lockhart formations.

"Presently, these formations are yielding 830 BPD of oil and 1.0 MMSCFD of gas through 32/64" choke at wellhead flowing pressure (WHFP) of 520 PSI," said OGDCL.

Company shared that as of September 11, 2023, well has been connected to OGDCL Nashpa plant through 1.8km flow line and gas is being injected into Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited network.

Nashpa well is part of Nashpa Block which spans Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. This venture is collaborative effort where OGDCL stands as operator, holding 56.45 percent stake.

Partnership also involves Pakistan Petroleum Limited which holds 28.55 percent share and Government Holding Private Limited with 15 percent share.
