LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has given last chance to counsel for Election Commission (EC) to give written reply on petition filed against politicians who have failed to show Toshakhana gifts in EC papers.

Petition filed by Tanvir Sarwar came up for hearing before single bench of LHC led by Justice Raheel Kamran Sheikh here. Petition was filed through advocate Nadeem Sarwar.

Counsel for EC while regretting requested court to give time to file reply. EC while giving last chance to counsel for giving reply till October 2 adjourned hearing of case.

Petitioner has taken plea EC demonstrated partiality. Action was taken against only one person. EC kept in view its likes and dislikes in Toshakhana case. Proceeding was initiated against Chairman PTI in Toshakhana case and he was disqualified. EC did not register complaint against any other member of assembly. Equal action should be taken against those members of assembly who have obtained gifts and they have not shown them.

Petitioner requested court to order EC to take legal action against those members of assembly who have not shown gifts taken from Toshakhana by them.

During hearing of case court while reprimanding counsel for EC remarked you have made mockery of courts. One month has passed and you have not given reply on this petition. I give decision on this petition today.
