Nomination papers of Azam Swati: Court issues notice to respondents

PESHAWAR: Petition filed against rejection of nomination papers of PTI leader Azam Swati from NA-15 was heard in Peshawar High Court (PHC).

Two members bench of PHC comprising Justice Ijaz Anwar and Justice Syed Arshid Ali heard petition. Court issued notice to Election Commission and complainant Capt (retd) Muhammad Safdar. Barrister Waqar Ali Khan counsel for applicant took plea in court nomination papers of applicant have been rejected on basis that he is proclaimed offender in case of FIA.

Counsel for applicant Shah Faisal Atmankhel told court FIA case is case of 2022. Court while issuing notices to respondents sought reply till January 11. Court has summoned record of case from FIA.
