No tolerance for violent, extremist views after May 9 violence: Khursheed Shah

Karachi: In statement, Minister of Water Resources Syed Khursheed Shah expressed deep concern over deterioration of society caused by politics of 'jathas' (gangs) and prevalence of apolitical and immoral behaviour.

Khursheed Shah, senior leader of Pakistan Peoples' Party stressed government's commitment to restore economy, even if it meant enduring political losses. He sternly warned against desecrating martyrs and condemned any form of violent political behaviour.

Highlighting government's unwavering dedication to country's integrity and public interest, Minister Khursheed Shah assured nation that no stone would be left unturned to safeguard these vital concerns.

According to reports reaching here he underscored that nation's well-being takes precedence over all other considerations and government would spare no effort to protect it.

Shah argued that government's primary goal was to uplift country and ensure prosperous future for its citizens. Senior PPP leader also expressed deep remorse over events of May 9, urging everyone to respect sacrifices made by martyrs.

He stressed that these sacrifices should not be tarnished or politicised but should serve as reminder of nation's unity and collective responsibility to work towards its progress.
