RAWALPIND: (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan claimed that he is being denied basic human rights in jail. In an interview to foreign publication, Khan alleged that he is being treated like terrorist. Rare interview was conducted through his lawyers from behind bars.
"I am confined in 7ft by 8ft death cell, typically reserved for terrorists to ensure they have no contact with anyone," he said in interview given to foreign publication.
"It is solitary confinement with barely any space to move," said Imran Khan while adding that he is under strict surveillance all time.
He said in interview that his party secured significant majority of approximately 175 seats, not 93 that were officially acknowledged after February 8 elections.
According to Imran Khan, he spends most of time in future planning as he will be back soon. "Despite being caged, entire country looks to me for hope and resilience. Most importantly, my prayers keep me steadfast, my belief in God assures me that justice will prevail over tyranny," he said.
Imran Khan has ruled out tabling no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's government via joining hands with Pakistan Peoples’ Party.
Speaking to journalists at Adiala Jail, Khan was asked about no-confidence motion. He remarked that there was no difference between PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz as they were "Two sides of same coin."
His remarks come as PML-N-led coalition government lost its two-thirds majority in National Assembly due to Supreme Court's July 12 ruling, wherein it had declared PTI eligible for allocation of reserved seats.
