ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi said no proceedings can be initiated against President as long as he remains in his office.

"Election Commission has put all schedule on its website, he said this while talking in private TV programme here. We have taken oath that we will uphold Constitution. Constitutional institution EC is there to hold election, he added.

He said that it is mentioned in law 54 days will be given to political parties for election campaign. Holding fair and transparent election is responsibility of EC, he added.

Day President tweeted we made legal position clear on same day. No proceedings can be initiated against President as long as he remains on his post. What happens in our government we are responsible for it, he added.

No country sells oil cheaper after purchasing it at higher rate, he remarked. Inflation is reality. Every political party is free to present its views, he held. We have no political foes, no political friends. We are not in favour or against any political party. We will not stop if law, institutions and courts take any step against any one. Our government will not waste national wealth.
