‘No one will be allowed to commit robbery on right of farmers’

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said prosperity of farmers and development of agriculture sector is our top priority and no one will be allowed to commit robbery on right of farming community through urea smuggling.

Presiding over meeting here regarding production and supply of urea in country and load-shedding of electricity during summer season PM directed authorities concerned to ensure timely production of urea and its delivery to farmers across country.

Meeting was given detailed briefing regarding production and consumption data of urea fertilizer in country as well as gas supply to urea industry.

Prime Minister said government is taking all possible measures to reduce per acre cost for farmers. He said government has made prosperity of farmers and development of agriculture sector as its top priority during past one year. Shehbaz Sharif said he will not let anyone to steal rights of farmers by smuggling urea. He directed that demand and supply of urea should be strictly monitored.

He directed to present comprehensive plan of gas supply and buffer stocks keeping in view of production and supply of urea to industries.

He directed Power Division to keep electricity load-shedding minimum level in summer besides accelerating pace of work on restoration of Neelum Jhelum project.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and ministers Tariq Bashir Cheema, Khurram Dastgir Khan and others attended.
