ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi has said no one should have any ambiguity as election would take place on February 8.

“It is not correct to talk on pre-assumptions with reference to resignation of Chief Election Commissioner and members. No one should remain under delusion. Election will occur on February 8, he said this while talking to media men outside Election Commission here.

Constitutional responsibility to hold election rests with Election Commission. Caretaker government is bound to extend full cooperation to Election Commission with reference to holding transparent election.

He added we are seeing security situation in KP. Government will take steps therein in this regard.

Election Commission will decide to go to Supreme Court on matter of awarding election symbol of bat to PTI, he observed. Caretaker government has nothing to do with it, he added.
