KARACHI: President North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI) Faisal Moiz Khan condemning K-Electric’s move of load shedding in industrial area at night appealed to government to ensure uninterrupted power supply to save industries from being destroyed. Otherwise, industries will be locked down and large numbers of workers will be unemployed.

In an appeal to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Faisal Moiz said that in current situation, industrial community cannot afford power outage in any case as it is already difficult to run industries due to high cost of production and now load shedding in industrial area from 12:00pm to 8:00am will adversely affect production activities as a result of which industries will be closed down while crime incidents will also increase “On one hand, government emphasises on promoting industries and increasing exports, on other hand, anti-industry measures are being taken.

How can industries and exports be promoted in such a situation”, he questioned. Prime Minister to issue instructions to K-Electric for uninterrupted power supply to industries in Karachi so that industrial wheel can turn round and create more employment opportunities, he added.
