New appointment in Punjab made upcoming election controversial: Qureshi

MULTAN: Vice Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Shah Mahmood Qureshi said controversial appointment in Punjab and arrest of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry have shown government intentions. Addressing press conference here former Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said caretaker setup is moving ahead under preplanned agenda which makes election process controversial. He feared more PTI leaders can be arrested in upcoming days in country.
He said news of Imran Khan’s arrest has created uncertainty in party leadership and workers. He further said arrested of former Minister Fawad Chaudhry is condemnable. Senior PTI leader said Imran Khan and other party leaders have raised objections to name of Mohsin Naqvi but he was appointed as Chief Minister of Punjab. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said 24-hour-long power breakdown put country in darkness and any untoward situation can occur during power outage. He said caretaker government has changed Joint Investigation Team members which are probing murderous attack on Imran Khan.
