New academic year to start from April 15 in Sindh

Karachi: New academic year in public and private schools across Sindh will commence on April 15, 2024, according to Sindh Education Department. Announcement came after meeting of lower committee of provincial steering committee, headed by Sindh caretaker Education Minister Rana Hussain.

Different matters discussed during meeting include dates for commencement of academic years and vacation schedule. Spokesperson said that academic year in Sindh’s colleges will begin on August 1 next year.

Meanwhile, last year’s schedule for summer and winter vacations will be followed next year. A 15-day training programme will be organised for teachers during summer vacation.

Spox stated that matriculation and intermediate exams will be started from last week of May 2024, while results will be announced on July 31 and second week of August, respectively.

In another education-related news today, Lahore High Court ordered government to close all schools and colleges on Saturdays in Punjab as provincial authorities fail to curb smog.
