NEPRA raises tariff for KE by Rs6/unit

KARACHI: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) is likely to increase electricity tariff by Rs 6 per unit on account of two month fuel adjustment (MFA) for K-electric consumers.
According to details, federal government has filed petition with NEPRA seeking hike in electricity tariff by Rs 6 per unit under fuel monthly adjustment.
Power tariff will increase by Rs 4.45 per unit on account of monthly fuel adjustment and Rs 1.55 on previous year’s MFA.
Decision to increase power tariff is to maintain power tariff and additional recoveries will be made in June this year.
Earlier, National Electric Power Regulatory Authority had allowed electricity distribution companies to charge their consumers an additional fuel cost of Rs 3.39 per unit for four months.
Cost will be charged from March to June, while consumers were already paying 43 paise per unit surcharge. New prices will be applicable to consumers across country including K-Electric.
