Nepra announces Rs4.11 per unit relief for KE consumers

ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a deduction of Rs 4.11 per unit in power tariff for K-Electric consumers in electricity bills for month of September. According to a notification, decline in tariff was made under fuel adjustment charges and K-Electric consumers will get a relief of Rs 4.11 per unit in September.
Lifeline consumers of power utility will, however not be able to avail relief. On August 11, National Electric Power Regulatory Authority increased power tariff for K-Electric consumers by Rs 11.10 per unit. Approval was given in terms of fuel adjustment charges for June 2022 and increase will not be applicable for lifeline consumers. Recent hike will be charged in bills for August and September 2022, read notification. “(The FCA) shall be shown separately in consumers’ bills on basis of units billed to consumers in respective month to which adjustment pertains,” said Nepra.
