Islamabad: Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar hailed statement of Pakistan Peoples’ Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in line with judicial reforms.
Speaking to media, Tarar said, “Legislation will be done in this regard following completion of Senate election. There is need for such reforms that will help masses get relief.” He made it clear that there was no threat to democracy, saying, “Fortunately, democratic process is being run with continuity. Democratic governments had completed their terms.”
Recalling recently held elections, Tarar said, “Elections were held peacefully. Those who are having any complaints in line with polls can raise their voice in concerned forums.”
“It was due to one political party that former Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jilani had decided against becoming head of judicial commission.” Few days back, Tarar asserted that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was looking to politicise Supreme Court’s suo motu in line with Islamabad High Court’s judges letter.
