Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and PPP co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari had their first telephone discussion following Nawaz's return to Pakistan from his self-imposed exile in London, as reported by sources.

During the call, Asif Zardari congratulated Nawaz Sharif, a three-time former prime minister, on his return to Pakistan after four years in London.

In their conversation, the leaders discussed the nation's political and economic situation and agreed to schedule a meeting in the near future. Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari also expressed their commitment to alleviating the burden of inflation on the people.

The PML-N had previously announced Nawaz Sharif's reentry into political activities, and he had convened a meeting with the senior party leadership at the PML-N secretariat. According to reports, Nawaz Sharif is set to participate in various political gatherings and lead the party's election campaign.

Nawaz Sharif returned to Pakistan on October 21 following his four-year self-imposed exile in London. He arrived in Lahore and was welcomed by a grand rally at the historic Minar-e-Pakistan monument, with his journey from Islamabad to Lahore accompanied by PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
