LONDON: PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif is said to be annoyed over non-reduction of petroleum products prices by government despite dip in international market.

He has supported his daughter Maryam Nawaz stance on this matter that we should give relief to people and prices of electricity and petroleum products should be scaled down instead of raising them.  According to media reports and sources overall political and economic situation of country came under discussion during second meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Nawaz Sharif apprised him of his reservations on escalating inflation saying he is very saddened over increase in prices of petroleum products and electricity because this is badly impacting PML-N image.

I am supporter of my daughter Maryam Nawaz over her stance on scaling down prices.  Former finance minister Ishaq Dar strongly criticised policies of finance minister Miftah Ismail saying dollar price should have come down to level of Rs 200 following restoration of IMF programme and receipt of installment.

Petrol price should range between Rs 190 to 200. Shehbaz Sharif said Finance Minister Miftah Ismail stance is that if prices of oil and electricity are reduced then IMF would be annoyed. We have to see matters of tax recoveries and petroleum companies.  Ishaq Dar said IMF has never said not to give relief to people and reduce inflation. Shahbaz Sharif remained silent during harsh criticism.
