In a significant development for the PML-N, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday acquitted former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Avenfield reference.

The verdict, announced by a two-member bench comprising IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, came in response to Nawaz's appeal challenging his conviction in the case.

Addressing reporters outside the court after the IHC's acquittal verdict, Nawaz mentioned that he had entrusted his situation to the will of Allah. "I had placed my trust in Allah. Similarly, in the Al-Azizia corruption reference, I have also left my affairs in the hands of Allah."
