NAVTTC, APMIA sign MoU to establish framework for cooperation

KARACHI: National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and All Pakistan Marble Industries Association (APMIA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for cooperation between APMIA and NAVTTC, which aims to promote skilled labor in mining, processing and value addition for the dimension stone industry, which create employment opportunities for the youth.

Muhammad Bilal Khan (Chairman APMIA) and Muhammad Amir Jan (Executive Director NAVTTC) while signing the document stated the details that NAVTTC will nominate 10 zones to APMIA for the development of skilled labor in the mining and processing sector, so that the factories or industries designated in these zones can be given the status of training institutes.  In addition, it was also agreed to nominate two focal persons from the North and South zones on the proposal of the APMIA Chairman. Bilal Khan highlighted in detail to provide modernize training to labor in the mining and processing sector. He said this initiative will be under government support, and it aims to modernize Pakistan’s mining industry and strengthen the country’s economy.  NAVTTC Executive Director Muhammad Amir Jan expressed his determination that government will fully support the promotion of skill development as per the needs of the dimension stone industry.
