Nation protests against Holy Quran’s desecration

LAHORE: Pakistan observed Yaum-e-Taqaddus-e-Quran (Quran Sanctity Day) after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued call for nationwide protest against desecration of Holy Quran in Sweden. Protesters gathered in Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and other cities urged international community to take notice of desecration of Holy Quran. They demanded formation of strategy to stop such incidents in future. Meanwhile, lawyers also staged protest outside Supreme Court.
Christians’ community participated in protest whereas lawyers took to streets in Faisalabad to register their protest. Jamaat-e-Islami’s labour wing staged ‘“Quran Sanctity Rally’ from Eidgah to Chowk Katcheri and condemned desecration incident. Lawyers in Sargodha incepted rally from District Bar room. On other hand, Pakistan Central Muslim League lead rallies in Bahawalnagar and Lodhran wherein protestors voiced against Sweden government. JI also protested outside press club in Muzaffargarh.
