Former actress Nargis has filed a defamation case with the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) cybercrime cell against actress Nigar Chaudhry and over 10 YouTubers.
She has accused them of damaging her reputation on social media through malicious activities. A spokesperson for the FIA Lahore confirmed that the case has been registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), citing sections 20, 21, and 511 of the law. Nargis has named Nigar Chaudhry, Abida Usmani, and several YouTubers as the accused individuals in the case. Nargis claims that these individuals have been involved in spreading harmful and defamatory content about her on social media platforms, which has led to significant harm to her public image. This legal move comes after Nargis made serious allegations against her husband, Inspector Majid Bashir, accusing him of physical assault due to a financial dispute. She had filed a separate case against him following the incident that occurred in Lahore’s Defence area.
Nargis’s defamation case highlights the increasing concerns over online harassment and the impact of social media on personal reputations. The FIA cybercrime cell is now investigating the matter, and further actions will be taken based on the findings.
