LAHORE: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi presided over Federal Investigation Agency’s high-level meeting here to address pressing issues of overbilling and electricity theft across country, announcing stringent zero-tolerance policy toward such offenses. In resolute tone, Naqvi emphasised necessity for impartial actions against officers implicated in overbilling and said that negligence would not be tolerated at any cost.
He stressed paramount importance of offering relief to electricity consumers subjected to overbilling, signaling shift towards prioritising consumer welfare. Moreover, he issued clear directives to escalate efforts in combating electricity theft, urging officials to pursue all perpetrators, including government personnel, with equal rigor.
