Naqash Khan helps District South lift title of Karachi Games Boys Basketball

KARACHI: District South won the final of the Karachi Games Basketball Boys Tournament at the International Abdul Nasir Basketball Court Arambagh by defeating District Central by 59-45 points.

For the winners side, Naqash Tahir Khan 27 points, Daniyal Ahmed scored 14 points and Rajkumar Lakhwani scored 10 points while Aun Akram scored 17 points, Ali Hasan scored 12 points and Bilal Agral scored 11 points on behalf of the runner team. Michael Turner, Daniyal Marwat and Zulfiqar Abbas Khan performed the duties of technical officials.

Naqash Tahir of District South was named man of the tournament, Mubariz Ahmed, emerging player Haris Shahid and Daniyal Marwat were named as the discovery of the game of basketball.

KMC Senior Director IT Depatment Mohammad Basheer Siddiqui was the chief guest of the final ceremony and distributed trophies and medals to the players on this occasion.

Karachi Basketball Association President Ghulam Mohammad Khan, Chief Selector Mohammad Yaqoob, Aslam Niazi, Malik Mutahir Hussain and other personalities were present.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Basheer Siddiqui and KBBA officlas, in a joint statement, have expressed their gratitude to SSWMB MD Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah, DMC South Gardens Department M.C Akhtar Ali Sheikh and Arambagh Police for their full cooperation during the tournament.
