Islamabad: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Najam Sethi, is set to hold a media conference on Monday, to announce developments regarding various issues surrounding Pakistan Cricket.

According to sources, Sethi will share the details about his recent visit to UAE, where he met the officials from Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), Asian Cricket Council (ACC), International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The chairman will also update the media about their policy regarding the 2023 Asia Cup.

Earlier, India had expressed reluctance to send their team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup later in September. In reply, then PCB Chairman, Ramiz Raja stated that if India doesn't participate in the tournament, then we will not participate in the ICC World Cup 2023 scheduled in India.

Afghanistan had also recently offered to play a three-match ODI series with Pakistan in March in UAE. It must be noted Australia pulled out of the series against Afghanistan in the United Arab Emirates, citing Taliban moves to restrict women's rights further. Hence, the chairman will announce whether Pakistan will accept Afghanistan’s offer or not.

Important announcements regarding the future of Babar Azam’s captaincy, the appointment of new Team management and selection committee are also on the agenda.
