‘NAEAC delegation visits Ziauddin University to conduct accreditation assessment’

Karachi: Delegation of three members of National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC) visited Ziauddin University, Education City Link Road Site to conduct an accreditation assessment.
Visit aimed to assess academic programs in Departments of Food Science and Technology and Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
Committee was led by Prof. Dr. Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chairperson of National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council and Convener of Accreditation Inspection Committee and included members- Prof. Dr. Saghir Ahmed Sheikh from Hamdard University in Karachi and Dr. Syed M. Ghufran Saeed from Karachi University.
Ziauddin University was represented by key personnel including Prof. Dr. Inayatullah Khan, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Fahad Azim, Director Campus and Dean Faculty of Engineering, Science, Technology and Management, Prof. Dr. Sumaira Imran Farooqui, Dean Faculty of Allied Health Sciences alongside Mirza Amin as Additional Registrar, Prof. Dr. Saad Jawaid Khan, Chairperson of Department of Biomedical Engineering, Dr. Bakht Ramin Principal, College of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Adnan Fuzail Director of Quality Enhancement Cell and Ali Abbas Director of Student Affairs, collectively ensuring seamless facilitation and coordination of accreditation.
Professor Dr. Inayatullah Khan highlighted University administration’s commitment to following NAEAC’s recommendations emphasising tremendous progress made this far in carrying out their plans. He told visiting group that they would see real changes in both departments.
Team was split into three different groups. Chairperson of Department of Biomedical Engineering presented BS Food Science and Technology programme to one evaluator, while Principal of BS Human Nutrition and Dietetics programme did same for other.
Chairman NAEAC was accompanied by Director of Campus, who showed them campus infrastructure and University amenities. Following departmental presentations, assessors toured laboratory and interacted with students and teachers.
Furthermore, strong graduate research supervision policy was established, mentoring students in their research endeavors and cultivating a culture of academic inquiry and creativity inside institution.
Thorough debates proceeded, aided by self-assessment reports painstakingly created with assistance of ZU’s QEC and in conformity with Higher Education Commission-Islamabad requirements.
