NAB summons Sheikh Rasheed in £190m settlement case today

RAWALPINDI: National Accountability Bureau summoned former Minister and Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed in Al-Qadir Trust case related to settlement of 190 million pounds.
Rasheed, who is close confidant of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has been directed to appear before anti-corruption watchdog in person today. As per NAB notice, Rasheed was also asked to bring along all documents related to case. Khan - along with his wife Bushra Bibi and other PTI leaders - is facing a NAB inquiry related to a settlement between the PTI government and a property tycoon, which reportedly caused a loss of £190 million to the national exchequer.
As per charges, Imran Khan and other accused allegedly adjusted Rs 50 billion (£190 million) at time sent by Britain’s National Crime Agency (NCA) to Pakistani government as part of agreement with property tycoon.
They are also accused of getting undue benefit in form of over 458 kanals of land at Mouza Bakrala, Sohawa to establish Al-Qadir University.
